Community Guidelines

Last updated: November 2, 2026

rubra is a service operated by the Swiss company rubra AG (the «Provider» or «we») for discovering, collecting, and sharing content online.

These Community Guidelines set out what content and conduct are permitted on rubra. The Community Guidelines form an integral part of our General Terms and Conditions (GTC). Terms used in these Community Guidelines have the same meaning as in the GTC.

The Community Guidelines are addressed to you as a user of rubra. «You» refers to all users, including Creators.

The Community Guidelines apply to all content and conduct on rubra. Content includes, for example, images, texts, videos, comments, messages, usernames, and collections of content. These Community Guidelines also apply to content that was created or modified with artificial intelligence (AI).

The Community Guidelines give examples of prohibited content and conduct. These examples are not exhaustive.

1. Principles
1.1

You may only collect and share lawful content. The way you collect and share content, and your other conduct, must also be lawful. The law applicable in each case is decisive.

1.2

You alone are responsible for your content and your conduct on rubra. This also applies to third-party content that you collect and share.

1.3

Treat other people with respect. Criticism and differing opinions are permitted. Personal attacks are not permitted.

1.4

When assessing content, we take context into account. Content that serves news reporting, education, documentation, research, art, or satire may be permitted even if the same content would not be permitted without that purpose. The purpose must be clearly apparent to others. In any case, content must be lawful. This exception does not apply to content under Section 2 and Section 3 of these Community Guidelines.

1.5

We may, at our own discretion, exclude permitted content from recommendations and highlights (Section 6.7 of the GTC). This applies in particular to content that may be disturbing or offensive to many people.

2. Protection of Children and Young People
2.1

We do not tolerate any content or conduct that sexually exploits or endangers minors. Minors are persons under 18 years of age.

2.2

In particular, the following are not permitted:

  • depictions of the sexual abuse of minors, regardless of whether the depictions are real, drawn, fictional, or created with AI;
  • content that encourages minors to engage in dangerous behavior;
  • contacting minors with sexual intent («grooming»);
  • sexualized descriptions or depictions of minors;
  • collecting otherwise permitted content involving minors in a context that sexualizes minors.
2.3

We block such content immediately upon becoming aware of it, delete the user accounts concerned, and report the content to the competent authorities.

2.4

You may only use rubra if you are at least 18 years old (Section 1.3 of the GTC).

3. Sexual Content, Nudity, and Intimate Images
3.1

Pornographic, erotic, and sexually suggestive content is not permitted. In particular, the following are not permitted:

  • descriptions or depictions of sexual acts;
  • sexually suggestive poses, depictions, or descriptions;
  • advertising for erotic or sexual offerings.
3.2

Nudity is not permitted. Nudity means the depiction of exposed intimate body parts, in particular genitals, buttocks, and breasts. The prohibition also applies to educational or artistic content. Swimwear and underwear are not considered nudity unless they are depicted in a sexually suggestive manner.

3.3

Intimate images without the consent of the persons depicted are not permitted. In particular, the following are not permitted:

  • secretly recording intimate images or videos;
  • creating or sharing fake intimate images or videos of real people, for example, with AI («deepfakes»);
  • threatening to share intimate images or videos, for example, in order to obtain money or further images («sextortion»);
  • sharing intimate images or videos without the consent of all persons depicted.
3.4

We immediately block intimate images shared without consent (Section 7.4 of the GTC).

3.5

Offers of sexual services and sexual harassment, for example, unsolicited sexual images or messages, are also not permitted.

4. Violence and Endangerment
4.1

Content that glorifies or trivializes violence or calls for violence is not permitted. In particular, the following are not permitted:

  • instructions for making weapons or explosives with the aim of harming people;
  • calls for violence or for criminal offenses;
  • threats against persons, groups, or institutions;
  • cruel depictions of violence against humans or animals;
  • content that supports, promotes, or glorifies terrorism, violent extremism, or criminal organizations.
4.2

Content that promotes or glorifies suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders is not permitted. Content that provides information on such topics or offers help is permitted.

4.3

Content that encourages dangerous activities involving a serious risk to life and limb is not permitted.

4.4

If you or another person is in immediate danger, contact the police or another emergency service. We cannot provide emergency assistance.

5. Hate and Discrimination
5.1

Content that incites hatred or discrimination is not permitted. This applies to content directed against persons or groups based on characteristics such as age, disability, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, skin color, origin, illness, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, or worldview.

5.2

In particular, the following are not permitted:

  • disparaging persons or groups based on such characteristics;
  • denying, grossly trivializing, or justifying genocide or other crimes against humanity;
  • racist content;
  • symbols, slogans, and content of organizations that spread hatred or discrimination.
6. Harassment, Personality Rights, and Privacy
6.1

6.1 You may not harass, intimidate, or humiliate other people. In particular, the following are not permitted:

  • insults, verbal abuse, and defamation;
  • content that disparages a person because of their body, their appearance, or their private life;
  • repeated unwanted contact;
  • bullying and calling on others to attack a person.
6.2

You may not infringe the personality rights of other people. In particular, the following are not permitted:

  • voice recordings, images, or videos of people without their consent, where consent is required;
  • false statements of fact about persons that damage their reputation;
  • sharing personal data without consent, for example, addresses, telephone numbers, identity documents, health data, or financial data («doxing»);
  • publishing private messages without consent, where consent is required.
6.3

Public figures must accept more criticism than other people. However, criticism must relate to their public role. Section 6.1 and Section 6.2 of these Community Guidelines also protect public figures.

7. Deception and Misleading Content
7.1

Content and conduct that deceive or mislead other people and may harm them as a result are not permitted. In particular, the following are not permitted:

  • using the name or image of another person or organization without making this clearly apparent («impersonation»);
  • fraud, for example, fake sweepstakes, fake investment offers, or pyramid schemes;
  • phishing, i.e., attempts to obtain login credentials, payment details, or other confidential data;
  • statements of fact that are clearly false and may endanger public safety, public health, or elections and referendums;
  • fake documents, reviews, or receipts.
7.2

Opinions are permitted even if other people do not share them. Parody and satire are permitted if they are clearly recognizable as such.

8. Content Created with Artificial Intelligence (AI)
8.1

You must label content that appears real and was created or substantially modified with artificial intelligence (AI). This applies in particular to audio recordings, images, and videos that depict real people, places, or events.

8.2

The labeling obligation applies to your own content. The obligation also applies to third-party content that you collect and share if you know or must assume that this content was created or substantially modified with AI.

8.3

The label must be clearly visible. If we provide a labeling feature, you must use it.

8.4

A label does not make prohibited content permissible. In particular, content under Section 2, Section 3, and Section 6 of these Community Guidelines that was created or modified with AI is not permitted.

9. Rights of Third Parties
9.1

You may not collect and share content that infringes copyright, trademark rights, or other rights of third parties (Section 6.2 of the GTC).

9.2

If in doubt, you must assume that content is protected. If in doubt, you must obtain the consent of the rights holders in advance. Consent must be verifiable.

9.3

Statutory exceptions, for example, for quotations, remain unaffected. When quoting, you must cite the source and, if known, the author.

9.4

When collecting and sharing third-party content, credit the source whenever possible. Crediting the source does not replace any required consent.

9.5

As a member of a community, you may only use the content of Creators within the features of rubra and in accordance with the requirements of the Creators (Section 6.5 of the GTC). Downloading content and distributing it outside rubra without consent is not permitted.

9.6

We block or delete the user accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the rights of third parties (Section 7.7 of the GTC).

10. Prohibited and Regulated Goods and Services
10.1

You may not use rubra to offer, advertise, or broker goods or services that are prohibited under applicable law. In particular, offers of the following are not permitted:

  • drugs and other prohibited substances;
  • counterfeit goods and pirated copies;
  • stolen data, user accounts, or login credentials;
  • protected animal and plant species and products made from them;
  • human beings, organs, or forced labor;
  • prescription medicines;
  • weapons, ammunition, and explosives.
10.2

Furthermore, you may not use rubra to offer, advertise, or broker the following goods and services, even if they are lawful:

  • alcohol;
  • medicinal products and medical devices;
  • financial products, for example, investments, loans, or trading platforms;
  • gambling, for example, casino games, lotteries, and sports betting;
  • crypto assets;
  • tobacco, nicotine, and similar products, for example, e-cigarettes.
10.3

The prohibition under Section 10.2 of these Community Guidelines also applies to affiliate links and other advertising for which you receive payment or other benefits. Content that provides information about such goods and services without offering, advertising, or brokering them is permitted.

11. Advertising, Spam, and Manipulation
11.1

You may not use rubra for unsolicited or otherwise impermissible advertising (Section 6.1 of the GTC). In particular, the following are not permitted:

  • mass messages and repeated identical content («spam»);
  • comments or messages that are unrelated to the content and serve only advertising purposes;
  • misleading links, for example, links that lead to content other than what they indicate.
11.2

You must label advertising content as such. Advertising content is, in particular, content for which you receive payment, free products, or other benefits, for example, content with affiliate links. The label must be clearly visible, for example «Ad» or «Advertisement».

11.3

Political advertising is not permitted. Political advertising is content that promotes a party, a candidate, an election, or a referendum if you receive payment or other benefits for it or act on behalf of third parties. Political opinions and discussions are permitted.

11.4

You may not artificially influence the reach or popularity of content. In particular, the following are not permitted:

  • using multiple user accounts to fake interactions;
  • buying or selling followers, likes, comments, or other interactions;
  • coordinating with other people to fake interactions.
12. Security and Integrity of rubra
12.1

You may not compromise the security or operation of rubra. In particular, the following are not permitted:

  • overloading rubra;
  • circumventing access restrictions, security measures, or paywalls;
  • distributing malware, for example, Trojans or viruses;
  • accessing data, user accounts, or systems without authorization;
  • automated access to rubra, for example, with bots, AI agents, scripts, or comparable means, unless we provide an interface for this purpose (Section 4.6 of the GTC).
12.2

You may not circumvent measures we have taken. In particular, you may not register a new user account after your user account has been blocked or deleted.

13. User Accounts
13.1

You must provide truthful information during registration and in your profile (Section 4.2 of the GTC). Your username and your profile information may not be misleading or infringing and must comply with these Community Guidelines.

13.2

You may not rent, sell, or otherwise transfer your user account to other people. You may not share your login credentials (Section 4.3 of the GTC).

13.3

If you use rubra on behalf of an organization, you must be authorized to represent it (Section 1.3 of the GTC).

14. Communication Features
14.1

We may provide communication features, for example, groups, comments, or private messages. These Community Guidelines also apply to such features.

14.2

Do not send messages to people who clearly do not want to receive messages from you.

14.3

These Community Guidelines also apply to private messages. We do not monitor private messages. We may review private messages if they are reported to us, if there is a reasonable suspicion of a serious violation, or if we are legally required to do so.

14.4

If you create or manage a group, you are responsible for ensuring that the group’s name, description, and images comply with these Community Guidelines. You are also responsible for ensuring that the posts in the group comply with these Community Guidelines. Section 15.7 of these Community Guidelines applies by analogy. This also applies to private or closed groups.

15. Additional Rules for Creators
15.1

As a Creator, you are solely responsible for the content and services that you make available to your community. You must obtain all required rights and consents in advance and provide evidence of them at our request (Section 6.3 of the GTC).

15.2

You must describe your Creator Offerings clearly and truthfully. In particular, you must state the scope, content, price, and term of your Creator Offerings. You may not promise any services that you cannot or do not intend to provide.

15.3

In your Creator Offerings, you must provide the required information about your identity and your contact details. You must comply with consumer protection law (Section 3.14 of the GTC).

15.4

You may not put pressure on members of your community, for example, through artificial scarcity, threats, or guilt-tripping.

15.5

You may not ask members of your community to pay outside rubra for content or services on rubra. You may not refer to payment options outside rubra in order to circumvent the features of rubra for Creator Offerings. This prohibition applies insofar as we provide features and services for Creator Offerings.

15.6

Your Creator Offerings must comply with these Community Guidelines. This also applies if a Creator Offering is only accessible to paying members. In particular, Creator Offerings may not contain any content under Section 3 of these Community Guidelines.

15.7

You are responsible for ensuring that comments and other posts in your community comply with these Community Guidelines. You must delete or hide prohibited posts as soon as you become aware of them. If we do not provide a feature for this, you must report prohibited posts via the Infringement Report Form. Our rights under Section 7 of the GTC remain unaffected.

16. Reports
16.1

If you believe that content or conduct on rubra is unlawful or violates these Community Guidelines, you can report it. You can use the Infringement Report Form to do so (Section 7.1 of the GTC). You do not need a user account to submit a report.

16.2

Your reports must be accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. Knowingly false reports are not permitted. We may temporarily stop processing reports from persons who repeatedly submit manifestly unfounded reports (Section 7.7 of the GTC).

16.3

You may not threaten, harass, or disadvantage people because they have submitted a report.

17. Measures in Case of Violations
17.1

We may take measures if these Community Guidelines are violated. The procedure is governed by Section 7 of the GTC. In particular, we may:

  • withhold or set off payouts to Creators (Section 3.16 of the GTC);
  • restrict individual features, for example, paid features and services or Creator Offerings;
  • add a notice to content;
  • restrict the visibility of content, for example, by excluding it from recommendations;
  • block or delete content;
  • temporarily block or delete user accounts;
  • report unlawful content and related conduct to the competent authorities;
  • warn you.
17.2

We choose the measure that is proportionate in each individual case, taking into account in particular the severity of the violation, the potential harm, your intent, and any previous violations.

17.3

In the case of repeated violations, we will generally warn you in advance. In the case of serious violations, we may block or delete user accounts without prior warning (Section 7.7 of the GTC).

17.4

In the case of serious violations, we may also take your conduct outside rubra into account.

17.5

We will notify you of our decisions on measures and state our reasons. You may file a complaint against the decision free of charge within six months (Section 7.5 and Section 7.6 of the GTC). This also applies to persons who have submitted a report.

18. Changes
18.1

We may amend these Community Guidelines at any time. Section 10.2 of the GTC applies to changes.

18.2

If you have any questions about these Community Guidelines, you can contact us using the contact details in the Legal Notice.
