Managing collaboration just got more flexible. You can now assign specific roles and access rights to users when inviting them to contribute to your private or public collections. This gives you better control over who can view, contribute, or manage content.
Available Roles
Reader
Readers can explore and interact with content without modifying it. They can:
- View all items in a collection
- Add or delete their own comments
- Like or unlike items
- Use search, filters, and tags
- See who else has access
- Save items to their own collections
- Leave the collection at any time
Contributor
Contributors build on Reader capabilities by actively adding content. They can:
- Add new items to the collection
- Edit or delete their own items
- Add or edit tags for their own items
Editor
Editors help manage and structure collections. They can:
- Edit the collection itself
- Create, edit, or delete sub-collections
- Grant or revoke access to sub-collections
- Add, edit, or remove pins
- Edit or delete any item
- Remove any comments
Admin
Admins have full control over the collection. They can:
- Add, edit, or remove users across all roles
- Change role assignments
- Delete the entire collection
Use Cases
1. Team Knowledge Base
A product team maintains a shared collection of research and documentation.
- Team members are Contributors, adding insights and tagging content
- Team leads are Editors, organizing structure and curating content
- A project manager is Admin, managing access and ownership
2. Community Content Hub
A public collection where users share resources or inspiration.
- General users join as Readers or Contributors
- Trusted members become Editors to moderate and organize
- The creator remains Admin for overall control
3. Personal Curation with Select Collaboration
You maintain a private collection but invite a few collaborators.
- Friends are Readers who can comment and save items
- Close collaborators are Contributors who can add content
- You remain Admin to keep full control
